Frida K Beauty

Hello, my name is Dom and I’m a beauty product junkie.

The older I get, the more I want to do more with less. There is no reason I should be traveling with 82 makeup brushes on a girls weekend trip. This happened in real life… I’m utterly ridiculous sometimes.

Anisa Telwar-Kaicker is the Queen Bee of Makeup Brushes. Her company, Anisa International, creates brushes for most of your favorite cosmetic companies including but not limited to Mac, Estée Lauder, Milani, BH Cosmetics, Laura Mercier, etc. Basically, she is the alpha and the omega of brushes.

When I found out she manufactures Frida K Beauty under a private label, a limited edition brush collection, I added to cart immediately.

I love to use this brush kit when traveling. The double sided contour brush is life changing. I use the dense side to blend my creme concealer and fuller blunt side to add my bronzer.

This also makes a great brush set for someone just getting started with makeup. Anisa makes brushes for all of the major brands but you get the same quality for a mere fraction of the cost. I was so impressed by their quality! The dual ended brushes save soooo much space in my suitcase. Check out the full collection below:

Dual Ended Brush Set, $34 | Kabuki Brush, $22 | Beauty Brush and Cleansing Pad Set, $19

Frida Kahlo spent her days painting portraits documenting her life as she knew it. Her garb paid homage to her mestiza culture. I had so much fun loosely interpreting Frida in these images!

To me, Frida is so more than her flower crown, furrowed eyebrows, and surrealist portraits. She, herself, is art because she said so. She is what it means to unabashedly be yourself. She is a movement, a force. She is self confidence. She is beauty.

Until Next Time,

Story times, makeup hacks, behind the scenes and more… are we friends on Instagram?

Ahhh Hunida! I’ve missed you so! I’m really trying to get back into the swing of things. My work-life balance is shit. Her brushes really are something else. She created this gigantic brush for La Met that is my absolute favorite brush and I don’t know how I’ve lived my life without it thus far! Check her out!
